The foundation of our tournament
Every year we share the story of Dave Eggleston and the history behind this inspiring fundraiser. Dave was a leader and a founding member of this original City of Hope Golf Classic that now bears his name. For those of you who are here for the first time, Daves’ story is what has given longevity to this amazing weekend. Dave was generous and robust, he loved life! He was an avid angler, pilot, innovative entrepreneur and a valued executive with Southern California's Panelized Structures, Inc. In 1995 Dave passed, leaving a void in the lives of his family and his many cherished friends. Although he knew that he was in failing health, he never wavered from living passionately. Dave devoted tireless energy towards the fulfillment of City of Hope’s mission. Fundraising was one of his fortes, it was hard to say no to Dave. Because of the dedication and vision of people like Dave, City of Hope is able to continue its breakthrough research, providing life-saving treatments to thousands of patients afflicted with devastating cancer, diabetes and other diseases. We sincerely hope that, like Dave, you live your life with passion and support causes that matter. Thank you for for for your generosity, and thank you for understanding that it matters.
